Job Overview

• Position: Healthcare Assistant
• Location: Castlehead Medical Centre, Ambleside Road, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 4DB
• Salary: £12.80/hour
• Hours: Part-time – 24 hours/week (ideally 3x 8-hour days)
• Shift Pattern: Includes evenings and some Saturdays (Enhanced Access cover)

Key Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with GPs, nurses, and admin staff, contributing to the smooth delivery of patient care services. Your tasks will include:

• NHS Health Checks and New Patient Assessments
• Phlebotomy and ECGs
• Administering Flu Vaccines and B12 Injections
• INR testing using INR Star system
• Assisting in minor surgeries and family planning clinics
• Patient data entry, sample prep, infection control, and more

What We’re Looking For

You’re an ideal candidate if you:

• Have experience in an NHS healthcare setting
• Possess a Healthcare Certificate or equivalent
• Hold GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 or above)
• Can work independently and maintain patient confidentiality
• Are trained in phlebotomy, BP checks, vaccinations, etc.

Bonus: Familiarity with EMIS Web, patient recall systems, and infection control protocols.
