South Coast Seaweed is a pioneering aquaculture company launching a sustainable seaweed farm in Bracklesham Bay. We’re seeking a detail-oriented Assistant to support our Marine Management Organisation (MMO) licence application and secure grant funding from environmental and aquaculture bodies. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in marine licensing, grant writing, and sustainable coastal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support: scheduling, file management, meeting coordination
- Assist with reports, presentations, and correspondence
- Compile environmental, ecological, and operational data for MMO application
- Research Bracklesham Bay marine regulations and stakeholder consultation needs
- Draft and organize MMO application materials for timely submission
- Identify and apply for relevant grants (government, environmental, aquaculture)
- Write grant proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate with internal team, consultants, and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records and follow up on MMO and grant-related queries
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in administration, project coordination, or grant writing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in marine conservation, sustainability, or aquaculture
- Knowledge of Bracklesham Bay or UK marine policy is a plus
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in environmental science, marine biology, business administration, or related field preferred
- Prior experience with regulatory applications or funding proposals is advantageous
