Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do

Medical Device Decontamination & Sterilisation

• Receive & inspect used medical devices (surgical instruments & equipment)
• Decontaminate & disinfect soiled medical equipment following strict NHS protocols
• Pack, label, and prepare devices for sterilisation

Equipment Maintenance & Quality Control

• Conduct daily checks on HSDU processing equipment
• Maintain compliance with EU Medical Device Directive & NHS sterilisation standards
• Troubleshoot & load items into pharmacy robotic storage systems

Customer & Department Support

• Ensure timely processing & delivery of medical devices to hospital departments
• Work closely with ward staff, clinics, & operating theatres
• Adhere to ISO13485:2016 & NHS quality management systems

Who Can Apply? – Required Qualifications

• Good numeracy & literacy skills (GCSE or equivalent)
• Basic computer skills & ability to read small print (2mm)
• Manual dexterity & ability to follow strict procedures
• Strong communication skills & ability to work independently or in a team

Bonus Qualifications (Preferred But Not Required)

• NVQ Level 3 in Decontamination Services or equivalent
• Knowledge of sterilisation & infection control procedures
• Previous hospital or healthcare production experience
