 About the METI Japanese Internship Program

The Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) of Japan organizes this program to help global talent connect with Japanese companies, fostering international business skills and cross-cultural collaboration. Selected candidates will intern at top Japanese organizations, gaining valuable insights into Japanese work culture, business strategies, and professional development.

Internship Period:

  • Summer Session: Mid-August to Late September 2025

Internship Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you must:

  • Be a citizen of an eligible OECD/DAC-listed country
  • Be aged 18 to 40 years by August 31, 2025
  • Have proficiency in English or Japanese (JLPT N3 level or higher)
  • Provide a certificate of university enrollment/graduation and a letter of recommendation
  • Be available to attend the training and complete the full internship period
  • Must not have previously participated in the METI Internship Program from FY2017 to FY2024
