Role Overview

Cobalt Health is seeking a Bookings Assistant to join its patient-facing team. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients and referrers, helping book diagnostic imaging appointments (MRI, CT, PET/CT, ultrasound, X-ray) and providing compassionate, efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and assess referral documentation
  • Book appointments using the Soliton Patient Administration System (PAS)
  • Handle phone and email inquiries with empathy and professionalism
  • Print and dispatch correspondence to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Conduct patient safety screening and record clinical information
  • Support reception duties and Saturday/late-night clinic rotations
  • Liaise with NHS and private sector professionals to coordinate appointments
  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs Grade A–C, including English and Maths
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Intermediate computer skills and IT literacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a pleasant working atmosphere
  • Meticulous attention to detail and time management
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity

Desirable:

  • ECDL or equivalent
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Experience with Carestream Radiology Information System
  • Previous experience in healthcare or busy reception/office environments
