Internet Society Peering Fellowship 2025 – (Fully Funded)

The Internet Society Peering Fellowship 2025 is a fully funded international program to support professionals working in peering and interconnection. This six-month fellowship aims to equip 15 selected fellows with the skills, expertise, and resources necessary to optimize internet interconnection infrastructure, ensuring affordable and reliable access worldwide.  

This fellowship will occur in Lagos, Nigeria; San Salvador, El Salvador; and Manila, Philippines. Attendance in one of these locations is mandatory for selected fellows. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, incorporating technical training, advocacy work, peer collaboration, and global networking opportunities.  

By enhancing local internet interconnection infrastructure and fostering regulatory policies that support a strong internet ecosystem, fellows will actively contribute to making internet access more affordable, stable, and resilient in their respective regions.

Eligibility Criteria  

To apply for the Internet Society Peering Fellowship Program 2025, candidates must meet the following requirements: 

  •  Residency and Nationality  
  •  Applicants must reside in Africa, Asia-Pacific (APAC), Latin America, or the Caribbean (LAC).  

 

 Travel Readiness  

  • Must hold a passport valid through June 2026 to attend events.  
  • African applicants must have passports valid until February 2026.  
  • Asia-Pacific applicants must have passports valid until June 2026.  
  • Latin American applicants must have passports valid until April 2026.  

 

 Professional Background  

  •  Minimum three years of experience in the Internet sector.  
  •  Ability to commit fully to the six-month program.  
  •  Strong engagement in internet connectivity issues with proven professional contributions.  

 

 Technical and Linguistic Requirements  

  •  Must be available for online meetings from 11:00 to 15:00 UTC.  
  •  A stable broadband internet connection and the necessary devices are required.  
  •  Proficient in written and spoken English, as the program will be conducted entirely in English.  
  •  Must commit approximately four hours per week to actively participate in the program.
